Shiftkey is ok (certainly not the worst app) but I believe there are a few things they could improve on or add to make employment better. 24 hour help would be great. Considering nursing is 24 hours and clinicians like myself work overnight, the option for help after hours and weekends would be a great addition. I think there should be a phone number to contact customer service. I think the turnaround time for responses could be better. I think the fact that it’s suggested for us to “call the facility” for issues is frustrating. There should be a middleman to speak/advocate for clinicians to maintain professional boundaries and hold facilities accountable for issues they tend to procrastinate on. I think the “bidding” is misleading. There is a maximum bid per facility and it’s mostly capped at $1.50 over the suggested rate. If someone bids too high over 2 times without knowing this, you’re only able to accept the minimum suggested rate. I have found that increasing it (+) by 5-6 taps is usually the max. Instead I think each facility should post the max bid they’ll accept. I think they should cap applicants to a shift by maybe 5 and if the applicant before them cancels or is denied, you move up on the list. I think bonuses should be included for last minute shift postings. I think instant pay of shifts cancelled by facilities should be available instead of in the next weeks pay cycle. I think they should bring monthly surveys to the app.

This agency is not what it use to be. My background check has been in “consider” for almost a month now. We have to update our background check every yr and my background is the same as it was last yr but for some reason it was flagged this yr. I have called multiple times to see what’s going on and they just keep putting in escalation tickets but no one has escalated the situation or even contacted me. Use Intel’s or GrapeTree at least they would let me speak to manager or someone in background department to get the situation handle these people don’t even have that or your own personal specialist Update: even after they replied still haven’t spoke with anyone it has been 90days background still pending and waiting for them to upload it although it already been approved by Checkr….. This agency is a joke bout time they approve it I’ll be needing a new one

I am definitely willing to change my review in the future as shift key seems to be the most popular/highest rated PRN healthcare job app, and from what I can see on my page, there’s a lot of shifts available. However, the process to even be able to start. The shifts has been extremely long and there’s not much communication given out. I submitted all required documents and then had to check back with someone after 72 hours to ensure they were being checked. They stated that Covid was one of the required documents so I uploaded it, but they were then telling me that it won’t be processed because it’s an optional document so it’s just sitting in my required documents in review. I also submitted my background check last week, to which pass but then I was left in the dark that apparently after five days, they will send you an email about getting fingerprints. Nowhere was I given this information beforehand, it was only when I reached out to someone they said they could take an extra five days before I would get an email about fingerprints and drug screening. I was hoping this would only be a weeklong process but now that I have to wait an extra five days and I know it could take a few days for a drug and fingerprints screening to come back. It’s going to take over two weeks in total. With IntelyCare, I was able to submit everything and begin working that week. The only reason I came to shift key from that app is because they don’t have as many positions available and they’re usually taken pretty quickly and I wanted to be able to have some extra options.
